I just installed  SMF 1.0
But when i goto the package manager i get:
"An Error Has Occurred!" with nothing else showing.
We just changed servers, could that be it?

Help.

Could you goto your forums error log and post some relevant information from there. Also do you have any mods installed? If so please re-upload your sources folder.

Actually, would zlib not being enabled do it?

Yes.  The package manager currently cannot function without zlib.

Got also an issue with the the package manager.

QuoteAn Error Has Occurred!
2: copy(/home/<userid>/<website>/html/smf/Themes/default/VisualWarning.template.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied
(took the userid and website out)

Can't seem to figure out WHY it does this nasty error message...

Any thoughts ?? Zlib too ?? (This was a PHP lib right?)

[Unknown]

Not zlib.  Did you enter your FTP information?  Did the box requesting FTP information go away?

when I apply I tells me the files are successfull unpacked ( when looking with my ftp app I can see them in my temp directory, forgot so quick, but if my memory serves me right it was in SMF/Source/temp)

Then I fill in my FTP info, and then it gives me the error message. When I fill in faulty dir info it will whine about it. So I assume it works fine, but I simply can't activate the packages. :(

odd but true..

If it never stops asking for FTP information your path was wrong.

WEll, it stops asking, tells me it processes it, and then I get the error message as I posed earlier..

Is /home/<userid>/<website>/html/smf/Themes/default chmod'd 777?

indeed it was the chmod.

Sad thing is I have to chmod a whole serries of dirs. Like Source and also it seems I need to chmod my root index.php. After that it gets corrupted and won't work. So my guess is that I have to manual install all the stuff I like to add to SMF.

Not a major deal, and my guess it is not overly complicated and gives me a bit more control over the whole process. But while in testing it would have been a extreemly nice deal to auto install so we can test all kind of stuff and add-ins quickly.

I still like SMF, and that from a IPB user ..
