Laugh....   did you switch themes?  I noticed that the gear and bookmark only appeared for me when both the forum and the community were set to "default" theme

I moved the basic css for zcommunity into its own css file in the zcommunity default theme folder.  It will always be loaded regardless of what theme(s) you're using.  I've been shuffling things around and doing a lot of debugging and testing, so hopefully we're getting close to something stable :)

LaughOften

Yes, I have added a few new themes. I have the forum default set to Headline news and the Community is also the same.

It was there before because I see I edited my articles on 1/2 but no one has access to modify them now lol

I still have 0.7.3 installed

LaughOften

Okay I went back into global settings and checked the block for the forum layers and saved. I went into the blogs and now I can see the place to modufy and the bookmarks.

So the only way to use a custom theme is to not check this but in doing so it removes the bookmarks and the gear icon.

Is there a way around this?

Charles Hill

Updated to 0.7.6 Alpha.

I haven't figured out how to delete individual blog posts... is there something I'm missing?

I can only delete entire blogs...  ::)

Thank you for your hard work :)

Charles Hill

Mouse over the gear icon on an article or comment and click the trash can icon to delete it.

r3ck

Strange I don't have that icon showing. Just looked at your screenshots and definitely don't see that icon on mine... here's a screenshot.

Oh wow, the functionality is there... but the icon isn't showing... like rolling over an invisible link...

I'm using 2.0 Beta 4 w/a custom theme.

Thnx for your help.

Charles Hill

Are you using 0.7.6 Alpha?  If not I recommend you upgrade.  Make sure that when you upgrade, you delete the old zCommunity folder and upload the new one.

r3ck

Just upgraded... still same problem

When I highlight everything you can see it's there... and I can delete it if i'm careful and hover over the right part... but just can't see the icons... any idea?

Attached...

I changed the theme to "SMF Default Theme - Core" and it works in there... but it also does not work in my  "Classic YaBB SE Theme" included with SMF... thoughts?

I'm using this template:
hxxp:www.dzinerstudio.com/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item62 [nonactive]

I don't know if this question has been addressed or not, but is there a way to limit users to just creating only one blog each?  I don't want my users to get carried away and create an unlimited number of blogs.

I have this mod installed on my smf 2b4 and I think it's one of the best mods available.

r3ck,

If you had read just a few posts above your own...   or read my test results on 2.0, you would have noted that I have alreayd mentioned that the gear icon ONLY appears on default/default combination with 2.0.

I assume it's a theme/CSS thing which can be resolved fairly easily on each custom theme, but it has to be resolved by each installation

What mofification would we need to add to be adle to use this with 1.1.7 and a custome theme to be able to see the gears and bookmarks??

Also to update you have to delete the xConnumity file then upload the diles folder, then use the package manager on the second folder is this correct?

Will it save all the blogs that we already have?

Thanks alot!!  :)

I had this problem.  Make sure that you do all the index.template.php edits.  I think the one that you need is the ?fin or something like that, but do all of them.

Charles Hill

If it's not working for you, then the index.template.php edits for your theme(s) are not being made properly when you are installing.  I separated out the zc specific css into its own file, which is always loaded for zcomm pages..... so you shouldn't have the missing icons problem, unless you are missing the necessary code in your forum's index.template.php file(s).

What database type and version are you running?

Upgraded to 0.7.6. Seemed to go ok... but looks related to Andree's I couldn't detect which error produced since forum crashed. MySql... 5.0.51a-community--- same one that's been working, recent upgrade...
Global Blog Settings on save produces server 500 error... :-[
??? ?noted... also had seemed to cause some type css error with font size on initial install, which reverted to normal after 'going home' tab.
Also killed user's avatar....
So, was gonna uninstall, remove, and repeat..
Uninstall broke the forum, et. al.
Thank the Gods of Cyberspace I'd saved all my originals,0.7.5 and db... was able to re-upload them and original db backup and finally got forum and zComm 7.0.5 restored... and all seems well.. ???

Nope, I have no clue what I might have missed... something terrible happened...

It is critically important that you deleted the old zCommunity folder and uploaded the zCommunity folder from the zCommunity_0_7_6_alpha__files.zip archive.  There are a lot of things that were changed.  Beyond that being the issue, I don't know what might've caused that problem... unless the uninstall didn't remove all the zComm code from previous version(s) or the new install didn't make all the necessary edits.
