So which one are you trying to do?  1.1.6 > 1.1.8 or 1.1.7 > 1.1.8?

If you are at 1.1.7, did you try clicking the link in the Admin CP?  If you are uploading with the package manager, try deleting the package and downloading it again.

Alternatively, download the package from the 1.1.8 announcement thread in the News and Updates board and try to apply it like a mod :)

Tried that and it didn't work for me, and I suspect the 1.1.7 patch, installation after which I experienced problems.

Perhaps, it's something with the compression method. Extract the files in the package and zip it using the built in "Send to compressed folder" on win32 systems, ensure all files are zipped. If that fails, you'd have to make manual modification to the sources, see: Manual Upgrade Instructions.

Not sure what you mean.  I've got an old fashioned PKZip zipper; the only other one I have is WinZip. My immediate gut reaction is to uninstall the 1.1.7 patch, actually.

1.1.6 to 1.1.8 , i tryed to update in admin cp, but i get error . . . How i can resolve it ?

You need to provide us more details. What error are you getting exactly with the update?

For the TinyPortal problem, you will need to go into your index.template.php file and remove the code for the duplicate forum button.

You can't go from 1.1.6 to 1.1.8 using the Admin CP link.  You will need to go to 1.1.7 first.  Download the update from here:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=272861.0;attach=74893

and apply it like a mod through the package manager.  Once you do that you should be able to click the link in the Admin CP to go to 1.1.8.

I'm not sure, but it seems like he might be just not updating it one at a time, and trying to update directly from 1.1.6-1.1.8, instead of 1.1.6-1.1.7-1.1.8.

I tryed, but i got this error:
Quote
Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

Test failed means that the code the installer was looking for to edit was not found.  This can be caused by several things but mostly by previous edits that could have possibly been made to those files.

Can you check your current version of the files that failed in you Admin CP.  It's unusual for that many to fail unless the update has been previously applied.

ETA: please do not post two topics concerning the same thing!  I merged this with your other topic.

Can i change evry file who felt on the test with 1.1.7 version of same file ?

JimM

Yes, that would be a way to get the files correct.  Keep in mind that if you had any previous mods that edited these files, those edits will be lost.

JimM

Were you able to get this done?  I noticed your forum is at 1.1.8 now.  If this is solved, feel free to mark it as solved by clicking the Topic Solved link at the bottom of the page under the linktree.
