Does anyone know of a bridge to work with SMF 1.1.8 and Oscommerce E-commerce software please.

Orstio

Unless OSCommerce has changed drastically since the last time I looked at it, a bridge is not possible.  A bunch of code hacks for the sake of integration would be possible, but almost impossible to maintain.

I have just installed osCommerce on my test site (En,De,Es - front and back end working)
I did not use a bridge, nor was it a hack....

BUT you have me very curious, what type of problems should I look for?
have you any suggestions to help my testing?

And it is integrated somehow with your forum?

Question
is it integrated somehow?
Answer
I am new to SMF  (my test site is only a few days old)
I just installed osCommerce and am working on the integration of it and other "must have" features.

but it is 'integrated' in that it is part of the same database, on the same site, file system, etc...

the e-commerce (osCommerce) account is different than the site account, but that is the same on some other systems also since you do need MORE information to validate a purchase and sale.

localization is another integration problem, since I currently have different language files for SMF and osCommerce

The problem is that SMF does not use the same file system that e.g. Wordpress uses, and I am just now getting my head around the SMF language and localization structure

e.g.
I have dozens of osCommerce languages (front & back) so I can offer more languages to use with Paypal (as an example)
BUT
I do not want to maintain 40 plus SMF languages AND 40 plus osCommerce languages - obviously integration is the goal!

Does SMF support .po and .mo languages?

I hope to have more coherent thoughts once I understand SMF better.....

No.

yep - it does not
it does what osCommerce does

hey who said integration was easy....?

I am still in the learning and evaluation stage
so I am looking at Zen cart, and PrestaShop, etc...

anyone want to post thoughts or vote for which may be best?

I have SMF Store which is an ecommerce system built for SMF if you are looking for an SMF based store.

I looked at SMF store, but it does not have real money, paypal, credit cards, etc...

or am I mistaken?

also does it have multilingual capabilities?

SMF Store supports PayPal as the payment processor which supports all paypal's payment methods including paypal, creditcards, e-checks

You can translate the Store.english.php to any language that is needed. Which will allow users to view your store in different languages.
