i have the same problem

i dont know what version my php is.

i am using smf 2.0 rc1

jayman2

Same exact problem here also.  I just installed on my test 1.1.8 local machine.

I just checked the 4 files that the package installer states that are going to be modified.  They have not been touched.  If you go back to "Browse packages", zc is still not listed as installed.

While you're at it Charles, i'd like to ask you something. I have zC on a separate page, as in; i don't have any buttons or anything on my forum that links to the zC page. And when i log in and out on the zC page i get referred to the forum. Is this something you can change or should i change it myself? Because i remember that there have been folks who have asked you if they could use zC separately, and using zC without a button linking to it in a forum could be a first step, but then the zC page can't send users to the forum when they log in and out.

So I think I figured out what the cause for the installing issues was... Though I didn't have the same problems any of you did.  Also I found a couple minor things that I will fix.  I'll probably have that ready by this evening...

@ robinrobin ... I have been working on making zCommunity be able to stand by itself without SMF, but also be able to integrate with both SMF 1.1.x and SMF 2.0... There isn't much left for me to do for that to happen.  When I convert degreesofzero.com to zCommunity only on the main domain with SMF on a sub domain as a support forum, you'll know it won't be long.

Looks like it.

Citizen Erased

Hi (is my first post here!)

I have two questions:

1) can a zCommunity's blog have multiple authors/admins like blogger or wordpress?

I really need something like that, because I plan to move my blogger's blogs to zC in the future, and I'm not the only author in none of them.

2) can the visitors make comments in the blogs? (sorry if the question was answered... 69 pages are too much and y didn't install any versions yet).

An advice: there's a problem with WP/SMF integration; a WP admin can change the password of any user of SMF, and I think this is an enormous security problem. Try not to make the same mistake with your future integretion zC/SMF...

bye.

Charles Hill

Sorry I won't have time to get it done this evening.

@ macphisto ... Yea there is pretty much unlimited flexibility in what you can do with blogs in zCommunity.  Ya you can make comments.

Charles Hill

0.8.1 Beta has installation fix and a couple other minor bug fixes.

TommyJoe

I have a question Charles, since I manually added the 0.8.0 what is going to happen when I try to install 0.8.1?

Should I edit them out before trying or will it correct itself?

Thanks

TommyJoe

Edit, I just deleted the 0.80 package, removed the zCommunity directory, Install the NEW zCommunity directory,
uploaded the package. It worked perfect.

Good Job Charles.

0.8.0 Beta now available :)

It appears I would have loaded this zcommunity as you were posting the updated version....

in order to switch from 0.7.9 to 0.8.0 will i have to uninstall all over again and reinstall?

and if so does this mean I have to remove the zip files that ended in '_files.zip' manually again and add them again?

thanks :)

Wonderful mod features...I have hit a few bumps in the road as follows:

1 - I have no blog link in admin [see missing_admin_text.JPG] I'm an idiot I didnt even realize it had its own section...i was used to blog community...any idea how to get rid of that space where the blog community text used to be in admin?

2 - I have areas showing misaligned [see misalignment_in_cp.JPG]

3 - The layout in some areas of blog admin are funny [ see pics funny1, 2 and 3]

4 - I cannot for the life of me find how to edit my posts?

anyone have any advice for these issues above?

The 8.1 version installed clean.

Only problem I see is that when I try to delete an article I get a blank page 500 internal error.

And in the error log I get these..

Undefined index: total

Line: 546

Undefined index: cookie_never_expire
File:/public_html/testrc1/zCommunity/Sources/Subs-smf.php

Charles, is it now possible to add any custom php or html side window?

jayman2

Here's a strange one.

My problem is my zCommunity directory.  I uploaded the latest zc folder and now when I go to my forum, I get a "Hacking attempt" page. If I rename it, I'm  able to bring up my smf install.  Then I named it back and refreshed the page and I got the same hacking attempt message. again.  As long as it's renamed, all is well.  As long as there's a zc folder, I get the error.  This has never happened before with other versions of zc.

Any thoughts?

blath

Yay! Many Thanks Charles. :) Congrats on getting the Beta out. :D

Anyhoo I encountered this error when I added a photo (via the insert html location ) to my profile. And clicked the author name (me) on the main community (blogs) page.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zc_plugin_slot() in /home/blath1/public_html/blath/bbs/zCommunity/Sources/Who.php on line 217

And when author (me) is clicked 'inside' a blog article. I get this error.

Table 'blath1_smf1.smf_blog_blog_blogs' doesn't exist
File: /home/blath1/public_html/blath/bbs/Sources/Who.php
Line: 434

When I removed the photo it worked normally ie showed the profile (no picture) no error. :)  - I'm not really worried about the picture. Just an FYI  :)

Though when I removed the photo to test the 'in article author click' I got the first error line 217 above. But it went to normal when I reloaded (it seemed to go for an older cache page I guess).

I'm running 1.18
PHP version: 4.4.9
and zCommunity 8.1 beta

Don't forget to rest, relax, & sleep.

Found another one. This one is odd and more weird FYI regarding the general SMF "who is online" function.

I can't seem to replicate it.

It just occurred after I gave guests, who had by default ability to view a blog, the ability to view the "community".  I'm just saying this as I'm not even sure that's the problem as I originally thought it was a sudden problem with the 'Ad Management' mod (smfads ver 2.3 by Jerm ). (but right now it's back to happily working as it was / it wasn't having problems before I just thought it might of been the cause when trying to fix the error)

The error seemed to be fixed after I logged out and than logged back in.

This is what the error looked like when I tried to access the "who's online function" via either clicking the icon or the ' # of guest, # users online'.

Table 'blath1_smf1.smf_blog_blog_articles' doesn't exist
File: /home/blath1/public_html/blath/bbs/Sources/Who.php
Line: 407

.. I just tried to replicate the problem thinking it might be after I adjust the community viewing settings and got this..

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zc_plugin_slot() in /home/blath1/public_html/blath/bbs/zCommunity/Sources/Who.php on line 217

(though to be honest I was hoping to recreate the 407 error) :(

uh oh I can't seem to shake this error now. Maybe it will go away when everyone's off my system. I just have to wait..

hmm I can access who is online via admin, even when people are on and ad management is running. (so most likely not smfads )..

now I can access it normally. No 217 error. :D  heh I'm not going to try to replicate that again. :D  It was probably a cache problem perhaps in terms of resetting it. :D

This one is just a weird FYI. For those wanting to try to replicate it.. I seem to have luck when modifying the community viewing settings (viewing settings work by the way so no worries on that) than trying a 'who is online'.

- blath out. :)

Hello, I just install this MOD on RC1 as per the instructions, uploaded the zCommunity folder to my root directory and then uploaded zCommunity_0_8_0_beta__smf_install via the Package Manager.

When I click "Apply Mod" I don't get any test failed, then I click "Install Now" and I get this message...

"Database updated successfully!
Click here to view your control panel"

Then I click "Click here to view your control panel" and it takes me back to Board Index page and nothing happens.

Then when I go back to the Package Manager it gives me the option to Apply the Mod again as if it was not installed? (didn't happen to me)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Actually, this happened with 0.8.1
