Hello, I just install this MOD on RC1 as per the instructions, uploaded the zCommunity folder to my root directory and then uploaded zCommunity_0_8_0_beta__smf_install via the Package Manager.

When I click "Apply Mod" I don't get any test failed, then I click "Install Now" and I get this message...

"Database updated successfully!
Click here to view your control panel"

Then I click "Click here to view your control panel" and it takes me back to Board Index page and nothing happens.

Then when I go back to the Package Manager it gives me the option to Apply the Mod again as if it was not installed? (didn't happen to me)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Actually, this happened with 0.8.1

ERROR LOG:
8: Undefined index: zc_mode
File: .../zCommunity/Sources/Load.php

Uninstalled previous version, removed separate folder, uploaded separate folder, installed new version.

QuoteApache version   2.2.11 (Unix)
PHP version   5.2.8
MySQL version   5.0.67-community
Architecture   x86_64
Operating system   Linux

The same thing happened to me.

Charles, is it now possible to add any custom php or html side window?

Yes.

Here's a strange one.

My problem is my zCommunity directory.  I uploaded the latest zc folder and now when I go to my forum, I get a "Hacking attempt" page. If I rename it, I'm  able to bring up my smf install.  Then I named it back and refreshed the page and I got the same hacking attempt message. again.  As long as it's renamed, all is well.  As long as there's a zc folder, I get the error.  This has never happened before with other versions of zc.

Any thoughts?

You sure you updated everything (edits to SMF files / completely delete old zCommunity folder and replace with new) ?

Found another one. This one is odd and more weird FYI regarding the general SMF "who is online" function.

I can't seem to replicate it.

It just occurred after I gave guests, who had by default ability to view a blog, the ability to view the "community".  I'm just saying this as I'm not even sure that's the problem as I originally thought it was a sudden problem with the 'Ad Management' mod (smfads ver 2.3 by Jerm ). (but right now it's back to happily working as it was / it wasn't having problems before I just thought it might of been the cause when trying to fix the error)

The error seemed to be fixed after I logged out and than logged back in.

This is what the error looked like when I tried to access the "who's online function" via either clicking the icon or the ' # of guest, # users online'.

Table 'blath1_smf1.smf_blog_blog_articles' doesn't exist
File: /home/blath1/public_html/blath/bbs/Sources/Who.php
Line: 407

.. I just tried to replicate the problem thinking it might be after I adjust the community viewing settings and got this..

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zc_plugin_slot() in /home/blath1/public_html/blath/bbs/zCommunity/Sources/Who.php on line 217

(though to be honest I was hoping to recreate the 407 error) :(

uh oh I can't seem to shake this error now. Maybe it will go away when everyone's off my system. I just have to wait..

hmm I can access who is online via admin, even when people are on and ad management is running. (so most likely not smfads )..

now I can access it normally. No 217 error. :D  heh I'm not going to try to replicate that again. :D  It was probably a cache problem perhaps in terms of resetting it. :D

This one is just a weird FYI. For those wanting to try to replicate it.. I seem to have luck when modifying the community viewing settings (viewing settings work by the way so no worries on that) than trying a 'who is online'.

- blath out. :)

Bug with the code added to SMF Who.php file.  Change {db_prefix}blog_articles and {db_prefix}blog_blogs to {db_prefix}articles and {db_prefix}blogs respectively.  Additionally change stripslashes( to $zcFunc['un_htmlspecialchars']( and change censorText( to zc_censor_text(

I'm not sure what global settings you're talking about.
If these settings are within the zCommunity script, then I can't do it, because I just get routed to the index.
I'm using SMF 2.0 RC1

Hi Charles - this might be a silly question but how do I update to the latest version of the blog community? And will I lose any posts I have made on my blogs?

Here you go.

It looks like the appropriate edits are there... I don't see anything glaringly obvious....

So do I just uninstall the package and delete the original zcommunity folder and reinstall?

Both of you need to remove the following from your index.php:
if (isset($modSettings['zc_mode']))
{
global $context, $boarddir;
global $zc, $zcFunc, $blog_info, $blog, $article, $comment, $poll, $draft;

// initialize zCommunity...
if (file_exists($boarddir . '/zCommunity/zc.php'))
{
require_once($boarddir . '/zCommunity/zc.php');
zc_init();
}
else
unset($modSettings['zc_mode']);
}

So, is there a consensus...is this new 0.8.1 Beta stable on SMF 1.1.8?

Charles, is there any ballpark estimate on when an official non-Beta version will be out? Are all the bugs almost solved, or is there still a ways to go?

Is there a guide somewhere on installing to a custom themed forum (mine is SMF Grunge)?

Thanks for all of your work!  :D

I did what you requested above. It did not work and I am now getting the following errors:

Line: 124

Here are those two files, if it helps:

Xavi-Nena

Few question still:

1 - is there a way to display the RSS feed and image as it was in blog community?

2 - I have areas showing misaligned [see misalignment_in_cp.JPG]

3 - The layout in some areas of blog admin are funny [ see pics funny1, 2 and 3]

4 - Please tell me which file I need to edit to be able to edit the Edit/Delete buttons on each article. Right now they are not showing at all and also the icons to the social bookmarking sites...if you mouse over certain areas the alt text shows but you CANNOT see the the actual place to click you kinda have to hover your mouse to search blind to find it.

anyone have any advice for these issues above?

see link for attached images: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=244848.msg1979097#msg1979097

Charles Hill

@ NenaGb ... it sounds like the edits were not undone to your SMF's index.template.php file(s) and the new edits were not installed properly.  Check the index.template.php file(s) for your SMF's theme(s)

No real issues yet with 0.8.1 Beta... other than edits not being undone / redone properly via the package manager.

I am estimating 4 weeks until a completely stand-alone version of zCommunity (which would still be beta) ... probably still a ways after that for a final release... but the Beta versions from here on out should be fairly stable.

well im realizing now that my index file seems to be all jacked up...

Actually the only thing messed up in the top part of that is the stuff before <?php    Should just remove that.  The stuff in the <head> tags looks ok.

Xavi-Nena

i removed it :) i thought that was pretty goofed up...

any suggestions for why i am getting these bugs?
