Another quick question,

i installed this mod on a custom theme.

I have manually edited the index template php of the custom theme.
the major issue now is that i cant save permissions after assigning them, and it send tons of errors to my eror log,,

Feature request: do away with zcomunity having it's own theme. Use the existing forum's theme. That way it doesn't visually look like $hit as well would require less modification to one's custom theme index.template.php .

I'm still sticking with 0.7.9 until someone responds to my post on the prev page, or the next version is released.

I'm actually thinking about going back to that verison (since right now I have it disabled alltogether).  I just have to figure out where I can get the files for it as I only have the SMF install files.

Well I just wasted my time uninstalling TinyPortal and installing SimplePortal in hopes it wouldn't have the same issues.  It does.

Hopefully someone can figure out a fix for it soon so I can start writing pointless things again!

I thought I would make a suggestion. And trust me, I'm no pro. But I've been doing installs like this for years.....

I installed the latest zCommunity version 8 on 2 different servers, on 2 different versions of SMF 1.1.8 and 2.0, with both Tiny Portal and Simple Portal, and it works very nicely!

I've found out over time, 9 times out of 10, if I have trouble, it is with the FTP of files....

FTP can throw a ton of ghosts into the mix...

Try a different method of FTP.......If a file is showing an error, FTP and overwrite just that file.

For the community files, I was going to ZIP just the zCommunity folder, not the whole Community install Folder, if I had any trouble. I might suggest trying that. That way you can FTP the zipped community, and extract it quickly and easily inside the file manager.

It might help a few of you, but probably not all....

Hope it helps!

There are issues with zCommunity integrating with installations of SMF that have portal systems installed..... I will address these issues, but there are other things I am attempting to accomplish at present.

I have been working on building the stand-alone version of zCommunity.  I've been slimming everything down, trying to make it as efficient and simplified as possible.  Once it's stable enough I'm going to use zCommunity on its own for my main site (degrees of zero) and put the support forum (which will use SMF) on a sub-domain.  I will then finish up the downloads system framework (plug-in) for zCommunity and use that to distribute plug-ins, themes, and zCommunity itself.  Then I'll get back to making zCommunity work much more easily with SMF.

Please understand that this is a giant project and requires a great deal of time.  Thank you for your continued patience.

damnitmike...you have it working with tinyportal with the latest version of zCommunity?

And glad to see you're going to keep a version for SMF integration Charles Hill!  zCommunity is pretty pimp!

damnitmike

Thanks dry3210 for asking.....I went back through my 1.1.8's and they weren't the current zCommunity..... >:(

Thats my bad bro!!! Sometimes the new versions come out so fast....

But its damn slick in 2.0.......and it installs nice too.....and I had quite a few mods already installed ahead of it.....

Sorry I confused everyone!

Perhaps I should upgrade to 2.0 then!

That didn't work either. Same issue

Can someone upload the 0.7.9 files (I have the SMF install but not the other part) to hold me over till the next release?  Thanks

Well I installed 0.7.9 alpha onto my newly updated 2.0RC1 SMF with simple portal and it said "Hacking attempt" when I went into the blog

So I figured it was cause I had updated so I downgraded to 1.1.8 again which caused all sorts of issues...where I ended up having to make a new database and just copy over the blog, gallery and simple portal files

Once everything was back up and running I find out that the blog still says "hacking attempt" when I access it but at least I still have my pictures

At this point I give up and will proceed to stab myself in the eye with a pencil so I feel better

I will go back to waiting for a new release and be blogless....and eyeless for that matter

Tiribulus

Are all the db tables beginning with smf_blog from this mod?
Thanks

Charles Hill

Tiribulus

Thanks, this is a cool mod though it's not personally useful to me at this time. I uninstalled it a while back and wanted to make sure there wouldn't be a problem with dropping those tables that for some reason it appears didn't uninstall at the same time.
Thanks again.

I have resorted back to blogcommunity for now because it works perfectly for me as needed. I just need one minor alteration to it and it is as the image attached describes.

Can anyone tell me how to get those items relocated where I have it mentioned in the pic?
