I am very much a novice so please accept my ignorance, the following error message has just appeared and I wonder if anybody can help I haven't attempted the upgrade as the thought terrifies me!!

Table './bredbury_smf1/smf_log_topics' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed
File: /home/bredbury/public_html/Forum/Sources/MessageIndex.php
Line: 457

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.8, while your database is at version 1.1.5. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

Any help would be hugely appreciated as I have no clue.

Thanks in advance

bluemart

Not sure if this will help but this is line 457 from the code above

LIMIT " . ($pre_query ? '' : "$start, ") . "$maxindex", __FILE__, __LINE__);

Thanks

Afro

Try to run the repair_settings.php.

Download it here  http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=663

Save it on your computer.

Upload it to the root directory of your website.

Access it at  www.yourforum.com/repair_settings.php

Click on all the values it will give you and save it.

1) Open phpMyAdmin. Ask your host if you're not sure how to do that.
2) Select your forum database.
3) Check the box next to the smf_log_topics table name.
4) Select Repair from the dropdown list at the bottom of the table list.

If this doesn't help, contact your host.

Don't worry about that. :) There have been no database structure changes between SMF 1.1.5 and 1.1.8, so you don't need to run an upgrade.

Please do not PM me with support requests unless I invite you to.
