Permission question

All I need want to do is to encourage members to post a little intro before they have access to other parts of the forum. How can I set up a permission that for example allows newbie's to post only an intro in the intro part of the forum before they can post further?

I created a membergroup that can only post in the intro forum and then set the next posting level say newbie2 to 1 and that didn't work.  For some reason even though I denied access to certain area's I tried this and I could still access areas I had denied!

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

Bump... I am still changing permissions in the admin section and these changes do not reflect in changes to the users! For example I deny access to a board yet it still allows them access, I tell it that they cannot post yet they still can!

Any help anyone could offer would be really appreciated.

click the profile on these members who can post....then click permissions..

it will show you how they are getting permissions....which may be due to another membergroup they are in....like the ones based on post count...
