Mark as Read button not showing

I'm transferring a site from one host to another, and running through everything before
I switch the dns - you know how it goes. . .

So. I have a little bug maybe someone can help me with.

In the forum, the mark as read button shows up, but not when I . . .

Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.


Clicking either one of those links indeed shows me the unread topics, but the
Mark as Read button is missing, and there is only a link saying:

   Mark ALL messages as read   


Anyone run into this problem before, or better would anyone know how I might fix this.

gives me no helpful result here, as you might imagine,
so I have searched the forum.

Does this happen with the default theme too? Maybe its just an issue with a custom theme your using.

Yeah. Just the custom. But it only is not working on the dev site,
and it works fine on the working site.

Also, I forgot to mention, I have it checked in the options to
have the mark as read show.

Have you tried asking the author of the theme or the support topic if it came from the Themes site here?  If it works on your working site, you might find the problem by comparing the files with something like WinMerge.
