I have a simple machines forum at ouranimalsourearth.com

there was a post by a member that was deleted - is there a way I can find that post?  Are all posts saved to some file, even deleted posts?

If you have enabled the recycling of deleted topics, which seems like you didn't, it should move them to the recycle board. Otherwise, only way to bring it back is to copy and insert it from a backup if you have any.
