Logout and SMF viewing problem with bridge

The title pretty much says it all.

I can logOut and Into SMF fine. But once I logOUT of SMF, Mambo's counterpart stays logged in. IT continues to stay logged in until I remove those related mambo cookies.

ALSO when using the links that point to SMF from Mambo, No member can view the forums available. It just loops back into the forum index. The only way around this is to edit the links in Mambo to point to the SMF directory i.e. "www.site.com/forums".

PLUS, those linked SMF pages say that SMF is at 1.0.1 when its clearly 1.0.2. The only way to tell is to again visit the directory i.e "www.site.com/forum".

This is highly annoying. I can understand if this Bridge is a beta but there are defintely some rough areas. I hope that its a beta because its too sloppy to be a regular version.

This is because you have not installed the theme mod provided with the login module.

I have no idea what you are trying to say.  Do you have a link?

This will be fixed in the next version.  There will be an update link to click tp update the bridge should you install a new version of SMF, or install SMF mods.

I'm not sure I understand your second comment/question either...   however, you should realize that;
from within Mambo, any calls that are for SMF (that you want to remain in Mambo) should be directed to index.php?option=com_smf... not the forum direct

Well, it is definitely applied now.  Does the login/out still give you problems?

I'm thinking about flushing the site and reinstall both Mambo and SMF since they both have new versions. Since I have no content until I can get this working correctly, I think that a clean install would do wonders.

If I have any new problems, I'll post 'em here. AND thanks for your help. You brought me one step closer to understanding how this bridge works.

For #1, what are your cookie settings in SMF?  In order for the bridge to work correctly, local cookies must be off, and you will most likely need subdomain independent cookies on.

The cookie settings are just as you describe.

I installed SMF 1.0.2, Mambo 4.5.2 and  Bridge 3.0.

Everything went great execpt for Mambo still not logging out  when you are supposed to log out.

Also, I don't know if its because of the Bridge but Mambo is seeing ghost guests. Also It seems like it can't distinguish the "www.site.com" from "site.com" in the session.

Yes... Mambo will be seeing ghost guests and users...

Are you certain you are not being logged out?
How are you judging login/out?   (are you using Firefox?)

The Who's Online module that coems with mambo does NOT properly record login/out with the bridge installed... hence the who's online module that was included with the bridge.

BTW, Orstio...   there's still an issue logging out with Firefox...   IE works just dandy, but Firefox never logs out.

Yes, some people running Firefox experience this.  But, it's not just the bridge.  There is something wrong with Firefox and cookies.  I tried out Firefox for awhile, but the logins on a number of unrelated sites were driving me nuts, so I went back to IE.

I've never had a single problem with Firefox cookies, and even more you can see what's going wrong by setting it to "ask me every time" (which you cannot do in IE...)

Well I didn't know about the Who's online module that came with the Bridge.  So I'll experiment with that.

ALSO, I don't normally have any problems with FireFox cookies either. Most other OSS for the web like Yabb, phpBB, PHP Nuke and the sort has no problems whatsoever with cookies in Firefox.
