i agree, windows has xp and longhorn, os based themes are cool and i would install it for my forum as long as it also had a matching mkportal theme for me to use. ;)

I think it's more the other way around. :P

I'd love to see some OS based themes.
Matter of fact, I thought about doing a Gnome based theme.

Mac os 10.x is the BSD operating system, so it can run KDE if you are interested, just requires you to install some required libraries and such.

And the OS 10 GUI, I am pretty sure was based off of KDE, but KDE is its own, old design.  Gnome was based more off Windows I think...
