With SMF you can set some prefs for attached files per post in Features and Options, and this is a global setting for everyone and everywhere. I'm particularly talkng about these three:

  • Max attachment size per post
  • Max size per attachment
  • Max number of attachments per post

What'd be the best way to add this setting in a membergroup basis? For the last one also on a board basis.

TIA. :)

Perhaps, but it gets more difficult to enforce.  As well, what happens when you're in five groups?  Do you use the highest limit?  Lowest limit?

Have the be highest, unless one group is defined as having to use lowest, then it uses lowest, even if the lowest is in a group that is lower then the one that defined the lowest.  That would make sense.

It'd be pretty similar to the allow, disallow, deny for permissions, right?

Identically, except you also need a text box to enter things like max size they can do, max amt per post, etc....

Anguz

Yep.

It'd be nice to have the option of making the board setting over-ride the permission one, similar to what happens with themes using the "Override Member's Theme."

How would you go about this?
