how to remove a tab

I inserted target="_blank" in the following line and it works, does this look right to you?

Just wanted to thank Deprecated for this mod, and Gene for posting on how to enable the tab to open in a new window.

I am a total noob to SMF and in a matter of hours (after messing things up for days) I was able to bring my forum on line and get this tab thing working the way I intented.

will there be an update for 1.1.10, i wanted to instal but the index.php modification failed, was looking to do it manual but given string is not present in the current index.php, else please tell me where to put this new string

This information should please many. 

I installed a test forum using SMF ver 2.0 RC 1-2 in order to run a test for FlashChat Integration,
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=611
(which is compatible with FlashChat ver4.7,
but is not compatible with FlashChat ver5.0).

As a result, I got FlashChat ver5.0 to work with SMF ver 2.0 RC 1-2, but I still needed a link to the chatroom.
So, I decided to try it on the test forum and it functions perfectly.
I am not promising that it will work for others as this was the ONLY MOD INSTALLED and that may be why it worked.

I have attached two screen shots for your convenience.

Please remember that this may not work for you depending on if it conflicts with another mod or your themes or other software you may have on a forum.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS BACKUP ESPECIALLY BEFORE MAKING CHANGES.

Hi,
Is it possible to change the program that this last option could be changed?, think I want to link the button to my second Forum while I'm on my first Forum.

For example I'm on www.windows7newsinfo.com/smf (installed the button here!) and I want the button goes to www.windows8newsinfo.com/smf or even to some other address so not to my forum's main index URL (default).
Perhaps some extra option in Your great Mod?
I need some help on this because it would be great if the members and guests could switch easily Forum just by pushing the button

Hi,

   Have edited everything and the cutom button shows up in the default theme alright, but when i switch to the babylon theme, it only shows the 'custom' link and  no button.

I've edited the babylon index.template.php and also made a custom button and transferred it into the ./Themes/babylon/images/english/custom.gif, yet i only see the 'custom' link(empty sign) on the babylon theme.

What could be wrong?

PS: Am using the 1.1.10 babylon theme

Hi there, I am trying to add a new tab to soccerfanbase.com !!

I have downloaded the package and that was successful. I can see the custom tab page under Features in the admin page. I have ticked off the allow guests and members to see tab and added URL but when I click save no tab shows up ?

FACT* Using version 1.1.8  of SMF and using the Blue Ace theme.

So can anyone tell me whats wrong or what I have missed out on!

Edit your theme's index.template.php  manually

hello can any one explain that how to make it possible that if some one clicks on the tab.. it should be opened in a new window..not in the same window..

Am looking at adding a tab for events rather than list them all in the affiliates area.

This would be viewable for guests and members.

Is this possible?

The custom tab just redirects to a given link it does not have a page on it, you can link it to a simple portal custom page though, if that helps

As i understand the permissions only apply to admins, guests and members, correct?
