i uploaded the portal to the packages folder went to the admin package panel clicked apply mod and i put all the correct ftp info in and it says this...

Quote550 Can't change directory to /home/vhosts/jordan-brennan.ueuo.com/forum: No such file or directory

and that is the location SMF is installed!

Please help me!

Try just entering a "/" (without the quotes) into the FTP directory field.

You could also verify your forum path in cPanel to make sure it's correct.

Alternatively, you can make sure to chmod the necessary files and folders yourself, as needed for them to be writable. On some hosts, that means 777, or 775, or 755.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

ive done everything but still the same error.

is there anyway i can do a manual install?

Please make sure you chmod the necessary files and folders as writable: if you do, there will be no need for SMF to use FTP anymore.
Where it complains about some files being not writable, please note it says that if you want to see which are not writable, click on a particular link. Do that, and see the folders/files that need changes of permissions to be writable.
Then connect in your FTP client and try making them 777, or if your host doesn't allow it, then try 755 or 775, for folders, and 666 or 644 for files.
