I just got this message " Sorry, the copyright must be in the template.
Please notify this forum's administrator that this site is using an ILLEGAL copy of SMF!".

The only modifications i have done,is installed the Shadow theme, and the 406 error mod.

Now i am getting this copyright notice?

How do i add the copyright?

rakuli

The copyright is in the form of
', theme_copyright(), '';
If it is not in the template, or not in there correctly, you will get the message you speak of.

interesting, i am an admin on a forum where i installed the shadow theme and the copyright existed and i didn't get that error, it must be due to the 406 error mod.  :-\

What exactly is this "406 error mod"? I know what a 406 error is, but don't know anything about a mod related to it.

How did you get the 406 mod on your board if you didn't know what it was? ;D

I had the same problem.  That mod doesn't work.  I would install the source files that you replaced from that mod.  The only place you should be getting the 406 error is in edit membergroups.

This has been fixed in 1.0.2.  I know this, because this was a headache of mine for a long time.

I was able to edit the source files myself to fix the problem.  However there shouldn't be a need to do it if you have 1.0.2

ive tried fresh installs over and over, same error.
the MOD worked, but now i have the copyright error!!

what index.php do i edit to display the copyright?
the one in the themes directory?
i tried adding ', theme_copyright(), ''; under  // Show the "Powered by" and "Valid" logos, as well as the copyright.  Remember, the copyright must be somewhere!in index.template.php and it didnt show up..?
