Copy and paste problem

I posts news items in my forum that come from the bbc.co.uk website. I tend to copy the first 3 paragraphs for their site paste it in a new post and then provide 'read more' link and link to the bbc site. I've been doing this for the last few years without problems but since upgrading to RC2 I've noticed a small problem. When I copy and past the paragraphs into a new post and save it some of the words get bunched together e.g.

QuoteBudget airline Easyjet has reported a big fall infull-year profits to the end of September, after the rising price ofoil pushed up fuel costs.
Pre-tax profits were £54.7m ($92.2m), half of the £110.2m the airline made a year earlier.
This came despite a 13% rise in sales from £2.36bn a year ago to £2.67bn.

More Info
Notice how 'in full' has become 'infull' and 'of oil' has become 'ofoil'.

Anyone know how to correct this?

Many thanks in advance.

Thinking it was maybe something to do with the bbc website and the format they use I copied the first three paragraphs of the simplemachines site and put them into a new post - got the same problem:

Sorry for the slow response.
I wonder if the problem is caused by a bug in the WYSIWYG editor. If you disable this in your profile (or use the toggle button on the reply screen) to go back to the normal bbcode editor, does this resolve the problem?

Hi H,
can't seem to disable it but I did the following:

Copied text and posted it using the 'reply' button which gave the WYSIWYG editor - pasted and got the joined text problem.
Posted the same text using the quick reply box i.e. no WYSIWYG editor - pasted and it was correct.

A problem with the editor then?

will let you toggle from the reply page.
Profile > Look and Layout > Show WYSIWYG editor on post page by default.

If it persists after RC3 has been released, I suggest you make a topic in Bug Reports :)

I have this problem as well, except the editor adds extra spaces to the text.  Will file a bug report.

That issue might have been fixed in either RC3 or in the SVN. I don't seem to have that issue though.

The initial problem I was having of the joined words seems to be fixed but like yoghurtfarmer I have extra spaces as can be seen in this post

I have the extra space problem (Using 2.0 RC3) as well as once its posted, some parts dont display, even when you go into the editor its there but doesnt display on the main page.

I've had other problems wit the full Wsomethingorother editor thing too - you can have it all looking nice and pretty in the editor, click post and it goes completely wrong, looking nothing like it did in the editor.

PurpleCrow... I have no idea what your talking about.  Are you talking about the What You See Is What You Get(WYSIWYG) editor?

Honestly, the WYSIWYG editor works with no problems for me. Yeah, there are a few glitches. but I don't have a problem with spacing. And it produces what what I set it up to produce on the post page.

Yes that editor, although with mine I certainly dont get what I see. Posts come out totally different to what the WYSIWYG editor shows.

What mods do you have installed? What do you use that doesn't come out as what you see in it?

I've got loads of mods installed, I'll post them tomorrow.

BBCode is the main issue with the WYSIWYG editor, bolding, italics etc. BBCode works fine with the normal editor if you type it (or click the appropriate button) but when, for example you highlight a word, click on the BBCode button to bold it using the WYSIWYG editor, it goes bold within the post box but when you post it it will end up bolding the rest of the post.

I don't seem to have that problem on a clean install of RC3.

Oh, good point flapjack. I'm using FF 3.6.6. I didn't get a chance to try it with IE8.
