I have a yahoogroup and want to convert that yahoo group to smf. I have even downloaded all messages in mdb file. I would like to have a converter to convert the messages from mdb file to smf.

The sample mdb file is attached. I want all the posts will same subjected be posted in single thread.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Norv

Thank you for the attached file, I will look into it.
You may want to note that there is no sample attachment. If your forum has attachments, you may want to try saving at least one of them to make it available, for us to see more clearly how are they stored. (for example if the FileName field means the file name or some full path including the name). Were you able to save any attachments at all, actually?
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

Thanks for offering the help. In my yahoogroup, attachments are not allowed for restricting spread of the viruses. We have asked users to use the file section to upload the files. I have manually downloaded all the attachments and put in my website. Now we wanted to just import the messages into the forum for better results.

For better product, All the attachments are downloaded to the harddisk and the file name of the attachments  is stored in the field.

Thanks once again for offering the help.

Norv

It seems there are no members table, either. That's normal I suppose, as these were yahoo accounts, but that means that the members on the forum cannot be "related" automatically to their posts.
I'll try making a converter for you to use, but members who posted something will have to appear as "Guest" with the name stored in the messages table. (which apparently, sometimes it's a name, sometimes an email address)

On another note, eventually, can you please tell, how did you get a .mdb file, does yahoo groups offer this possibility, to save all messages in a .mdb file? Do they offer options? I'm not very familiar with yahoo groups, I'm asking for my understanding.

I have the member table available as mdb file. I am attaching the structure of the member table as well. If I can add all the members also, that will be great. I thought I would be asking for moon. The email ids in the attached table are fictitius for obvious reasons.

My friend has used PGoffline software to convert the yahoogroups to mdb file. In case you need further information, I would be happy to share.

Thanks and regards,

Still waiting my new year gift from NORV

I have a rather larger Yahoo Group I'd like to move over to SMF also. I've been running SMF for over a year now and love it.

Gotta be a reasonable way to archive my Yahoo Group and convert to SMF.

I am sure whether this is possible but you managed to get the posts and members into .mdb. That impressive enough. I will try to give it a look too (for curiousity).

I'm also looking to do this, any ideas on how to achieve it?

Normally, those who can do this will want some fees. I am sure I can do this but my way will be along way.
