Almost every page other than the forum index shifts the forum to the left, especially the admin page, and its rather frustrating (for example the help page and the register page). What can I do to stop this from happening?

The scroll bar isn't appearing on your board index page is all. Add more boards and I bet the scroll bar appears on the right, thus pushing the stuff to the left. The Search page also is similar in height to the forum index. Click the "Choose a board to search in, or search all" thing and watch what happens.

I don't want it pushed to the left though. I now know that the scroll bar is causing the problem though, I just don't know how to fix it.

It's not a problem really. Short pages just don't have a scroll bar. Most of your pages likely won't be short. Do you plan on adding more boards?

My problem isn't the scroll bar being there or not. My problem is that I plan on keeping it the way it looks without a scroll bar, in the center of the gray, but the scroll bar ruins it and pushes it left, into the purple stripes, where I don't want it. I do want a scroll bar of course, but I don't want the scroll bar to push the forum left, I just want it to do its job and scroll and not push the forum to the left. What I'm saying is I don't want the actual forum to move at all. Also, yes I do plan on adding other forums.

You may want to contact the authors of IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari then (and a few others). As the scroll bar is contextual based on the height of the browser window's content. I'd suggest putting your energy on developing your forums rather than worrying about the existence of the scroll bar.

Am I missing something here  :o

What does the scroll bar have to do with how is board is rendering.

Have you reduced the width of your board  in the style sheet ?

If you do this it can make tables break out through the side of the board, usually to the right though.

Well, I want the width to fit in the grey in the middle and the scroll bar pushes my forum to the left. My forum homepage now has a scroll bar so here's a good example of what I want my forum to look like, but still with a scroll bar (when there needs to be scrolling).

The tables are correctly aligned to the center of the screen, but the grey background isn't centered, have you changed anything since you installed the custom theme ?

And that header is too wide also  ::)

I use Opera, but I just checked in FF, it's not centered, it's nearer the right hand side of the screen   ::)

Have you got a link to that theme.

I made the theme. It matches my main website theme http://octopussandwich.com/, but I am still working on it.

All I want is the scroll bar to not push the forum left.

I see your forum is now using vbulletin instead of SMF. Do you still require assistance with this? Please provide us the link to SMF you are using on your website so we can look into it.
