SMF create core* files - need help

There's nothing that SMF can do about it. You have to take this up with your hosting service. They need to examine a few of your core files and see what module is crashing (PHP, MySQL, cron, Apache, ...) and deal with it. As a stopgap measure, you could create a cron job to erase (rm) core files one or more times a day, if it's creating a file storage problem. But in the end, your host needs to figure out what specifically is happening, and not just blame SMF. Nothing an application like SMF does should be able to actually crash a server system -- they should be able to cleanly handle any erroneous actions by SMF.

Note that the "can't load /QueryString.php" issue is something that shouldn't cause a core dump, but can be easily fixed. See my sig > Fixes and read the article on Settings.php being constantly emptied out by database errors.

If the size of the core files are a problem in the meantime. Don't forget that as the host, you can set core files to dumped at 0bytes.

HI, an qn as been getting this problem. How do you set Core files to dump at 0bytes?? Thank you!

That is something your host should do, but it really doesn't solve an issue - it hides it, because core dumps don't just magically appear without a reason.
