Hello my forum just had a huge error when another administrator somehow managed to delete the whole "public_html" file from the database via File Manager. All the files for 1.1.5 had to be reinstalled. But now this message displays at the footer of the forum:

QuoteSorry, the copyright must be in the template.
Please notify this forum's administrator that this site is missing the copyright message for SMF so they can rectify the situation. Display of copyright is a legal requirement. For more information on this please visit the Simple Machines website.

Do I need to edit the code for the index.template.php and if so what do I need to add edit in?

', theme_copyright() , '

Likewise, make sure the $txt[] string in index.english.php exists for it as well.

Thank you but now for some reason Settings.php is read only...

iffy

Sorry for bumping this thread for some reason the license agreement is missing from Themes/default.index.template.php and /Themes/default/languages.index.english.php in fact a lot of files look like they're in a real mess.

No one can make any new posts and the Main Index page when logged out is a mess as well.

Upload fresh copies of all your templates, sources, and language files. This should get you back up to speed.

Welcome to SMF.

Actually the solution is as posted, so I'll mark this one as solved.  If you have additional issues then do as suggested and open a new topic.
