I have SMF 1.1.12 I think it is and I am trying to add a thing to where when someone posts a new ad they have a field where they have to put there location, can someone help me with this? Thanks

there is a location field built in that is associated with each use.

what exactly are you wanting to catalogue?

I used SMF to make a classified site, I'm having problems with users not typing their location in the ad so I wanted to add a text field for "Location" when you are posting a new ad so it would be like.

Location
Body (Main text input)

I just need to add a text field so its mandatory for them to put a location!

i personally cant help much seeing as how im working on something very similar in version 2.0. havent got it all figured out yet.

i wouls suggest upgrading to version 2.0, there is a lot larger ready made toolset for a lot of things that i havent even gotten to yet.

with that said, id bet there is, at least for ur version, a mod that does just that or something similar that you can potentially modify to suit ur needs. http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/ click around there and see if you dont find something.

I've looked through all of the mods the only thing I've found was a location in profile mod.
