« previous next » problem

Hi, my forum members pointed out that if they click the « previous button they go to the last message of the previous topic, the address is:

..../index.php?topic=2686.0;prev_next=prev#new

and if they click the next » button then they go to the last message of the next topic, that is:
..../index.php?topic=2686.0;prev_next=next#new

but what general members need is to go to the 1st message of the next or previous topic?

It automatically should direct to the first UNREAD message of either topic. That's why the link ends in #new
So if the next / previous topic is unread by the member, it will go to the first post of the topic.
