need a cbox mod for 2RC3 or dummy proof code to copy/paste

I have been using cbox on my google blog & 2RC3 forum, I am using the blogger code in a html box on the blog & mirror same code on the forum [in a script portal block].

I have been in contact with cbox & they will not be doing a mod for RC3, they do have a ton of code options on their site for numerous applications, but I am extremely green about code and when I tried to do it myself I fried the forum & had to reinstall it.

I totally like cbox as I can use avartars, add & remove smilies & options with ease and really want it on my forum where I do not need sep. log in.  If logged into the forum you can post in the chat & your avatar shows also.

Can someone help with a mod? or walk me thru this so I don't screw up my site again......such as figure out the code I need & add/remove what is needed so it works on my site & all I need to do is copy/paste it into a portal block?

the community area is: http://bootlegtunzworld.org/communityarea
the blog is: http://bootlegtunzworld.blogspot.com

cbox web page is: http://www.cbox.ws

so you can see what I have and am trying to do?  thank you to anyone who takes some time to look into this.

so, what exactly do you want?  do you want the cbox in your forum?  have you tried an html block?

does this cbox has some kind of tools for intregrating on to another cms or forum?

according to their site only the paid version has users integration.

first off..... thank you for replying  ;D

I have been wanting to fix this issue for some time now.

Yes I have a premium account with cbox & yes this can be done, but I am unable to make heads or tails out of which code to use & how to do the slight alteration to the code to intergrate this into my forum so a separate log in for the chat box isn't needed.

cbox support said they needed log-in powers at my site to look at this, it has been a week and they still haven't done so.   they have mods to do this automatically for past versions of smf but not for RC3.

I have a portal block system in place, can use php, html, etc [Portal Management Extension PortaMx v0.980]

I could also give you my handle & p/w for cbox account log in to look at what is involved for which script to use & alter so that when logged into the forum you can chat & your forum avatar shows up next to your name...... if you are able to lend a hand?

thanks for your time & for asking :)

I don't know how complex cbox is, and the problem is I don't know how cbox works or how they manage their users, is it a database?  plain text? csv files.

since its a paid script I cannot ask you to share the code so I can test it further.

have you looked at the scripts they have for smf older versions, theres a good start since you will only have to update the smf part to match 2.0.

cbox is basically free to use on your site, the 'premium" end is just for a few more bells & whistles such as being able to ban users, extra comment lengths, etc.

cbox support has already advised me I can have someone else familiar with code try to help or alter this so it works.  I guess for someone who understands code this is easy to do & then just copy/paste it into a php block on the forum.......but like I said I do not know anything about code like when it says "add this after this" so it'll automatically put your avatar next to the commenters name?

I believe they even have a disclaimer on the site that says if you've changed code to work for you to let them know also, to help others?

I would be happy to PM you my cbox p/w so you can see the different code setups & what it is I'm really talking about from my point of view at the control panel?

ah!  little problem here, I'm not really a coder ^^  I can defend myself in SMF because I know it and I'm familiar with the code, but I'm not so lucky with other scripts   :-\

I can try for sure but I can't promise anything,   in order to make the integration I need to have the script in my local installation, that means the full code so I can test it with my local installation, since you cannot share the script and I won't buy the script, Im afraid I cannot help there.

you can try to request a mod for it:

or hire a real coder to do this for you:

What versions do they support currently? They could possibly be modified to work with the newer versions as well, if they are not too old.
