Hi i am now confused,
While on AdminCenter->Boards->Modify Boards [ where i set the visibility of forum and permissions for groups] there is Guests, Regular members and Post Count based member group. So is it enough if i set the Checkbox for only the Regular Group or should i also  :o set the permissions/ checkbox for the post based groups.
Using Smf  2.0 rc4

Regular Members only works for those who don't have another group set as their primary group. For instance, your account will normally be an Administrator in its primary group, which means you're not part of Regular Members.

If you don't have any global moderators and so on (and thus, no-one other than yourself/other administrators, who automatically see every board), you can just leave it at regular members.

Generally, just adding every one of the non post count groups is enough.

i Still haven't understood that I have a board named Announcement. When i set the permissions for that board i see the above picture, the red box is post count based membership. Now i want every registered user to view the forum along with the moderators and guests. So do i have to put a checkbox in every Post count based membership.
Also, how do i tell the child boards to inherit parent board permissions?
How do i assign a default membergroup based on post count, is it assigned by default?

I already answered that:

Regular Members IS the default membergroup. A user is implicitly in a non post count group and a post count group by design.

You don't, at least not directly. What you can do is set up a permissions profile and assign the same profile to multiple boards.

So what you mean is Regular members automatically fall into post count based membership right!!

Arantor

Not at all.

A member is in two groups the whole time. They are in Regular Members and they are in a post count group. Right now, on this site, you're in Regular Members and Semi-Newbie, the first is non post count, the second is post count.

Great now i understand, thanks.
Btw i had set up some test board on the forum to test all functionality of the board. The board does not seem to refresh the previous RSS stream now, It shows the same rss feeds, could you help me with a suggestion!

Oops sorry, http://forum.deeptechtons.net [nofollow]. Only most recent 5 entries are shown, how do i make that more than 5. I saw another topic about configuring it via url, query string here http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=25009.0 is that only way. Btw the feeds not updating was because of feeds burner caching it.
