Updated sdx-developers.com from RC4 to RC5 and the entire DB spazzed out. DB Connection errors, incredibly long load times... The works...

Can't.. The backup script crashed during the upgrade but the upgrade persisted.

So I'm thinking you didn't do a backup yourself before the upgrade? So now your whole database is toast and you have nothing to fix it with? Tough brake.

Might check with your service provider to see if they have a backup

They do have a backup... Reinstalled RC5 and still running like garbage.

None at all.. Just having HUGE DB connection errors. The webhost says it looks like SMF is attacking the DB itself. Didn't have this issue in RC4

Here's my suggestion...

Delete ALL files/folders EXCEPT for Settings.php, Settings_bak.php, attachments and avatars and then upload a fresh copy of the 2.0 RC5 Large Upgrade pack, but delete upgrade.php and any SQL files.  Then see how the forum runs.

(Make sure you take a backup of all files first)

For what it's worth, I have 25 SMF forums running without any DB issues so it is not SMF that is the problem.
What mods have you recently or otherwise installed? Perhaps one of them has caused your DB issues?
