Strange characters Problem on forum

Hi, I am getting strange characters on my LINK TREE and at my Search area above.
The characters look like this " ÄÂ"
The issue started when I was making edits and saved it as UTF8
pls how do I resolve that.

What's the character set of your forum? (files and database)

This can happen when the php files are saved in a different character set than the charset is defined. (same for the database; or there could also be incongruities between the charsets of the php files and the database).
