Hi,

I love this theme but I am using versoin 1.1.13.
Is there any way I can download the origonal theme?  It doesn't seam to be available anymore which is silly.

Thanks,
Mike

Aaron

Hi Mike,

I pulled the original theme from the theme site because while I was satisfied with the colour palette, I wasn't particularly happy with how the rest of it turned out. Embarrassed, even.

So be advised, the 1.1 version looks nothing like its 2.0 counterpart, as that's done from scratch. I'm attaching it, though. Please don't be too disappointed.

The theme has been updated for SMF 2.0 final. Enjoy. :)

Robert.

Thanks for the update Aäron :)

Thank you Aaron~!

Bright Forest is a beautiful work of art for me. It dares to be classy, cheerful, unique and  versatile. I would love to see it become a multi-color series of Brights, Pastels, Seasonals and Rich Dark tones as well. Oh to have the skills required to do my own customization, but Bright Forest gives our forum a look we can be proud to wear. 8)

Thank you again for creating Bright Forest, and for updating it.

I just upgraded from SMF RC 3 to SMF 2.0. Now when I try to install Bright Forest 2.3, it gives Unable to load 'main_above'. But the same theme (earlier version) from RC 3 installation is still working.

Any idea how to hunt down the error?

Antechinus

Get the latest version of the theme. Aaron updated it for 2.0 Final the other day. ;)

Hi,

thanks for the reply, but that was actually exactly what I did.

QuoteRelease notes for Bright Forest version 2.3

    Updated for 2.0 final.

So version 2.3 is what I tried to install.

Edit: I tried to install ClearSky theme also, just to test if I can install new themes. It installed correctly and I can use it. So the error is with BrightForest theme (what I doubt) or with my previous installation with that theme somehow. The new theme installs in different directory than the present theme, so it shouldn't interfere. Can someone confirm that BrightForest 2.3 is usable with SMF 2.0?

Haven't tried it yet, but I'll grab a copy now and install it on local just to check. I'll also merge this with the theme's support thread.

ETA: Just tested it on local. Yes, it appears to be a bug in the theme zip. I'll let Aaron know. It'll be something simple.

While unable to reproduce the problem, I have recompressed the files and uploaded the new package. Hopefully that solves the issue.

Thanks Aaron and Antechinus, it works now fine! :)

Very nice theme  :)

Weird situation I'm facing.  When using SMF to modify the template, it works normally on every file except css/index.css.  If I make a change and try to save, I get a 500 server error message.  Typically that's just a file permissions issue but I've verified that file is permissioned exactly like the others in that folder and I can edit them via SMF fine.

Anyone seen this?  It's weird.

Resolved:  This was apparently a mod security conflict.

Hi Aaron,  :)

So I got ver 2.2 to run on SMF ver 2.0 Final.  I have since switch Bright Forest to the default theme and the letters are too big.

Ready to receive ver 2.3, but do I remove ver 2.2 first and then install ver 2.3?
( Sorry, not enough coffee yet  :P )

Thanks in advance.

Be Well,
