Restricting moderator permissions

Is it possible to prevent Moderators approving new registrations and if so where can it be restricted.
Whilst my Moderators do a wonderful job they do not always carry out the checks required on new registrations  in terms of ip addresses, spam lists, etc.

then you would need to remove the moderate forum members permission from this group.

Thanks.I was hoping there was a way of removing that one specific function without moderators losing others.

nope not at this time, unless you request a mod to be made.
