I'm not sure if this is only a feature request or only a mod request - probably both. Feel free to delete if considered a mod request as I have already posted there.
I would say that including the ability to return search results from custom fields with checkboxes or radio buttons is a feature request.
Displaying radio button or checkbox selections to search on - probably a mod request.

Version
Feature request for version 3

Description
I want to switch a site to SMF but 1 major drawback - search on users only works on text fields. If users type in the wrong text in fields, it will not show on search results. By having checkbox options and radio button selections there is no chance of error, but these cannot be searched by SMF at the moment.

It would be better if advanced search on users could:

At the very least, give the search results for custom fields that are radio button options or checkboxes - SMF does not return any results for them now. They are not included in search.

Better still
2. Display the custom profile fields for radio buttons or checkboxes to search.
3. If possible, 1 step further by displaying the radio button and checkbox options so a search can be made filtering only those attributes selected.

Permissions
As usual in SMF - permissions to access it for each SMF group would be fine.

Feature Set
The features for search are already in the core features custom fields set up. At the moment only text fields can be selected to be included in search. If checkbox and radio buttons could be included - great.

2.0 is feature locked so if you want this for 2.0 the team will not be adding it for you if they wish to pick this up for a future version.

Yes, it was intended as a feature request for SMF 3 ... guess I could be waiting a while though.
