Thank you for the wonderful mod!  I thought I'd let everybody know that when I updated my forum from 2.0 RC5 to 2.0 Gold, I had to reinstall all my mods.  This mod installed without issues and without emulation.  Hope this info helps someone!

Jessica.

one mod I always install since I dislike the look of 2.0.x's replies and views. I like them in columns
Testing Zone - SMF 2.0.7, default Curve
School & Chat - phpBB3, over 170 mods installed, official live forum

I use the latest version of Chrome

phpBB: Forum = a section; Board = whole site
SMF: Forum = whole site; Board = a section

Scratching my Head

Joker:

if I already have the New_Layout_for_Last_Post mod installed, how do I manually install the Separate Replies and Views Column mod?

Can you help me?

:)

(sorry - using smf 2.0)

Jessica.

I have that mod as well

I installed Separate Replies and Views Columns first than that and I didn't have to manually edit all the files

if I'm wrong, apologies, but I have both mods and I remember I didn't have to manually install either mod

Well, okay. I should have specified that it didn't have an uninstall, and when I parsed it (to manually uninstal) it
must've been an older version, and didn't have the proper unistall ...and more complications.

The solution was that I just force manually installed it over the New_Layout_for_Last_Post mod, and
it seems to be working fine.

I updated my forum from RC5 - 2.0 today, and I've been updating mods since.

Lots of fun!

::)

And thanks.
:)

How may I install this mod to 1.1.14 please?

You can't as this mod is compatible to SMF 2.0 branch only and I've no intention to backport any of my mods for SMF 1.x.

Just wanted to give a suggestion, not something absolutely necessary.  But when clicking unread posts, or unread replies up in the forum header, they still look the same as smf default set-up.   I know this MOD only edits the Message Index, and the manual edits are actually easy to do.  But just wanted to throw out the suggestion in case you wanted ideas for further updates.

Thanks for the suggestion. One might expect it in next release :).

It would probably be much easier if you uploaded and attached the MessageIndex.template.php file of the theme you're trying to install it on.

I think I help someone with merging both of the mods somewhere. Give me a  few hrs to get my brain on place and the code will be here ;).

thank you so much and sorry for troubling you again >.<
oh ya that MessageIndex.template.php can replace with the default 1? @.@

Joker™

Eric do a simple thing first before I start working on this.

Install this mod.
Using parse guide install started by mod manually on your setup.

Skip the common edits in both of the mods. Just give a try ;).

You mean you want me to install both mods 1st? @.@

then what you mean by skip the common edits in both of the mods?? And Using parse guide install started by mod manually on your setup, er.. what that mean too >.<

I am sorry as my understanding skill is kinda low >.<

Joker™

Install "Separate Replies and Views Column"

Make backup of MessageIndex.template.php
Using parse guide install "Started by mod" manually on your setup. Skip the common edits in both of the mods while doing this.

Installed the 1st mod and manually install the 2nd mods which is Started by.

I dunno why, whenever i try to manually install the Started by mods always encounter this error

QuoteTemplate Parse Error!

There was a problem loading the /Themes/zentoa_20/MessageIndex.template.php template or language file. Please check the syntax and try again - remember, single quotes (') often have to be escaped with a slash (\). To see more specific error information from PHP, try accessing the file directly.

You may want to try to refresh this page or use the default theme.

Replace with :

That is the MessageIndex.template.php after i edited it >.<
