Fatal Error: Sources/Load.php on line 142

I'm successfully running Stop Spammer on one of my forums and tried uploading it to another forum.  After I gave my localhost name and password, it shut down both forums.  I did not back up my files beforehand.  :(

I tried resolving this issue on my own by going to 2011.xx.xx_before_StopSpammer.tar.gz, and found 3 there:
2010-09-05_before_StopSpammer.tar.gz
2010-05-11_before_StopSpammer.tar.gz
2010-02-01_before_StopSpammer.tar.gz

but none that were from 2011, which was odd.  I tried using the most recent one to no avail.

Then I tried doing a large upgrade, which didn't work either.  It feels like the more things I try, the more I'm making things worse.

Now, I'm getting a Fatal Error - .Sources/Load.php on line 142

Line 142: $request = $smcFunc['db_query']('', '

I attached the load.php file.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

What specific error are you getting? "Fatal Error" doesn't tell us much at all.

Please bear with me because I'm not very astute when it comes to SMF.  I'm not sure how much more info is available than what I've given already?

When I try to access my forum I get:  Fatal error: Function name must be a string in /home/in5dco5/public_html/maya12-21-2012/2012forum/Sources/Load.php on line 142

When I looked at what was on line 142 of Sources/Load.php it said:
$request = $smcFunc['db_query']('', '

I attached the Load.php file in the initial post.

Please advise me about any other information I can provide.

Re-upload Sources/Subs-Db-Mysql.php. That's where $smcFunc['db_query'] is defined.

thanks for your assistance!

I tried uploading and overwriting the file from my pc to Sources/Subs-Db-Mysql.php on my server but nothing changed and I still have the same error.

I attached the Sources/Subs-Db-Mysql.php file to this post

It's in all of the packages - install, update and the "large upgrade" package. You really just need to re-upload that one file unless you're running into other issues.

I uploaded that file but I'm still getting the same error.  Any other suggestions?

MrPhil

When you say you "reuploaded that file", did you unzip it and distribute all the component files into their proper places? You will need to unzip it on either your PC (and upload all the files in it), or on your server (if your host control panel has an "unzip" function). I would suggest doing it on your PC, as any reasonable FTP client will upload all the files and directories in a single operation.

Yes, it was unzipped beforehand.  After that didn't work, I tried reuploading the entire Sources folder again to no avail.

I retried the full upgrade again and it fixed the problem.  thank you to those who helped :)
