Hello... please see this thread: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=389229.0

I had a very annoying bug that, after many replies, was not fixed. I even tried backing up, re-installing, etc.

Here is some server information: www.delibargaming.com/phpinfo.php

Here is the full story:
I had a perfect installation that was working fine and dandy. I did a usually check-up on the site to see how things were looking, and noticed Aeva Media was several versions behind. As these versions release more features (and bug fixes), I decided I would upgrade. So, I did the usual uninstall, install new version, etc. BUT, after, every time ANYONE logged in (credentials didn't matter), it would say "You must fill in a username." That is when I posted (see thread link at top).

Then, even if I deleted everything and re-installed. I couldn't even get past step 0. If I pressed "Continue", it would refresh the page. I even created a brand-new SMF forum on another server, carried it over to this one and updated the database/urls... STILL nothing.

So, I blamed my hosting provider. To double-check a THIRD time, I deleted my files, re-downloaded from this website, and uploaded them. Nothing. So, to see if my files were trying to be funny, I tried deleting my php.ini file.
BOOM. That was the issue.

The php.ini file read:
upload_max_filesize = 2G
post_max_size = 2G

Maybe someone can shed some light, but I thought it would be a wise decision to post this here.

Thanks!!

emanuele

Well not exactly a timely answer, sorry...

Reading a bit over internet the problem could be related to "post_max_size = 2G".
According to php manual you should not exceed "32 bit signed integer limit" and 2G could be one bit higher than this limit, if I'm not wrong.

Take a peek at what I'm doing! ;D
