help with restoring a backup!

I have searched all this site, found like 2 restoring backup tutorial, but as i'm new to ftp etc. i was "lost".

so i suggest to you guys to make a youtube video, with some clear steps.

anyway, here is my "bug" (i think im in the wrong board )

i made a backup from the "admin" panel on my forum, and after i restored my site, i tried recovering the backup following some tutorial steps which i found... and i keep getting this error message.

any help? i really need this forum back..

Which error message?

BTW if the forum is big (big means...don't know exactly probably several megabytes of compressed backup) it could be that the backup from SMF's admin panel is not complete and so not reliable...
