With my version of this modification, it runs without problem.
I worked with:
SMF 2 in German

Shop:
SID Giessen

I didn't read anywhere that you should use bbcode to style the Rules page, but tried it and it worked when normal html failed. It may be a good idea to include this information in your readme. I searched this thread and all the mod files to try to find out how to style the Rules page.. particularly for an ordered list. Only [list][/list] seems to work though.

Thanks for the mod! I find it very helpful.

does someone know how to remove the default rule page of this mod? i think that is just an thrash since the forum rules of smf can be change.

Huh?  The rules age for this mod is hand written in the mod settings.

ok. but what im talking about here what is that used for? there is already a rule page there before you install this mod. you can edit the default rule of the forum installed there. its ok if you can change the default page view of this mod.

What you mean? you find this mod useless because without it, you already can change the smf rules files by hand? (editing and uploading files?)

ok, I think you are getting confused.

What is present in the default SMF installation is the user agreement....   which is only shown at registration and is never seen after that. This mod not only adds a rules page and an extra page, but also shows the agreement itself as well...

nope. im saying right. what i mean is adding a feature of this mod where the owner can set a default page whether they want to set the page added or the forum rules page and when a user clicks the rule link the page set by the owner is the page that will be viewed by default.

well, since this mod has not been touched by the author in a long time, I think that you will have to look somewhere else...

in this case, the rules link goes to the rules page. You can also have a sub-link to the agreement page (and one other, if you want) but the main link goes to the rules and the sub link goes to the agreement.

It installs in 2.0.2 under the core them but the display is disjointed and not showing up properly...

Kindred

as I said... it works fine for me on 2.0.2 with no errors on installation and clean display.

However, the core theme is not the default theme....   so, yes, it may not display correctly on other themes and you may have to manually add or correct the display coding for that theme.

side note: I did find the error with the display of the rules modification settings page in smf admin

in the original edits:
modifications.english.php (and modifications.englishutf8.php)
Code (find) Select

$txt['the_rules_edit_agreement_pre_html'] = '
</td>
</tr>
<tr class="windowbg2" >
<td class="windowbg2"><a name="edit_the_rules_agreement"></a></td>
<td valign="top" ><label for="the_rules_edit_name"><a href="';
$txt['the_rules_edit_agreement_post_html'] = '</a></label></td>
<td class="windowbg2" width="50%">
&nbsp;';

Code (replace) Select

$txt['the_rules_edit_agreement_pre_html'] = '<label for="the_rules_edit_name"><a href="';
$txt['the_rules_edit_agreement_post_html'] = '</a></label>&nbsp;';

this fixes the wierd display issue with tables spreading to the far right...

It doesnt work for me i cant even install it, it says :

   1.   Execute Modification   ./Sources/Subs.php   Test failed
   1.   Add After   ./Sources/Subs.php

So i assume something is not the same given its a clean install and i really wanted it too :-/

Kindred

so do a manual installation of those parts...
