Hi there!

I've been poking around this site, as well as the forum I'm creating, and I've learned lots! But I have a question...

How can I build a specific board that no one can create new TOPICS in but say, Admins or Moderators, but anyone can POST in replies?

I hope that makes sense, thanks to anyone who answers!

did you look around the permissions?

Forum>Modify Boards>Modify and select the members groups that can view a board.

If they are not in the selected group they wont see the board.

If there are no boards that they can see in a category they wont see the category name either.

In the modify board section you will see an option called Permission Profile set it to Reply Only. It will make it so that only Administrators, Global Moderators, and board moderators can post new topics and everyone can only reply.

If you don't want board moderators posting new topics then you have to go to members>Permissions>edit profiles.
Create a new profile based off of Reply Only name it what ever you want. Select that profile you just created and edit the permissions. Then do the instructions above replacing reply only with profile you created.
No Pm's for support please!

Go to Admin-----> Forum----> Boards--->Modify Boards or Create new Boards...
Under Creation/Modifying Boards... See "Permission Profile" set it to "Reply Only" ...

You would need to use local permissions, or Board Permissions as they are in 2.0. For the exact setup you want, you would need to create a new permission profile to use.
