At the moment my board looks totally empty showing "0 posts/0 topics"

I have a directory of craft tutorials which is:

Dolls house Miniatures
> Food and Drink
>>Bakery
>>>Cakes and Biscuits

Now say there is a post in Cakes and biscuits it will show as 0 on the index page and also on Dolls House Miniatures.

This makes my board look empty. I was using mybb which showed the total count but found some better features on smf. I've now spent ages transferring it all over manually and am wondering if i should go back...but I love smf!

I've set all boards to add child count.

Please, please help.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site :)

Go to 'Administration Center » Forum Maintenance', scroll down to the third option and run the task for 'Recount all forum totals and statistics' and see if that helps. Also a link to your forum would also help.

I've sent you a username and password. It won't let me post a link to my forum. Keeps replacing the letters with "x" but I'm sure you can get the gist.  :)

Thanks in advance

Illori

for child of child boards for performance reasons we do not show the post count in the grandparent board

admin -> boards -> settings count child's posts in parent's totals

Thanks for getting back to me. Is there anyway I can change that because I didn't find it make a difference to speed with the mybb board and I really want to stay with smf. It's just no good if the directory looks empty.  :(

Thanks in advance

no it cant be changed without recoding a large portion of  smf as we codes things differently then other forum software.

Okay, thanks anyway.  :)

Just an FYI we had the same issue. So under the Child Board we created sticky topics to help keep the site organized.
