Hey all,

I'd like to present you a few bits on the people who are involved in SMF development, and a few changes you may have noticed lately.

Today, we have a few people that have, each on their preferred areas, already gotten significantly involved in SMF development and design, and their work is what makes SMF move forward. Which is why I am glad to see they have accepted a dark Orange badge.
Apart from them, SMF Development has actually more contributors, which, while keeping their primary roles (i.e. Customizer, Site), are taking actively part to making SMF. If I may, I will mention a couple of them, for your information, but be it said that there is more development involvement, one way or the other, from many people. And they have my thanks.

New developers

Our object oriented programmer, Fustrate. (SMF Developer)
Former customization lead long ago, Fustrate is a developer of smCore and template engine, and has already gotten involved in sites development, along with other initiatives on subprojects we're working on. With him on board, I am confident that we will make SMF 3.0 the way we need it to be: on par with current programming paradigms, good design, extensible and fun to use. Fustrate is the guy that never ceased to work hard for making - actually making - his dream for the core and SMF 3.0 be reality, and this is what he's doing.

Our Dev[il]-ish lead customizer, IchBin. (SMF Developer)
While doing a great job in his leadership time, I know this mean purple had his heart somewhere slightly more... orange: to work with code and design, to try his hand at tools needed by the community or new themes for SMF, to get acquainted with object orientation and mod SMF keeping an eye on coding standards and SMF practices. He has also stepped up for helping out with the mobile theme for next SMF.
As of his acceptance, he has stepped up to take a look at our official themes repos, for all SMF versions (2.0, upcoming for 2.1, upcoming for 3.0), and has already given me reasons to think he's actually quite lazy at heart (yes, he did). In which case he's well fitting for the job, you see. Because them developers wouldn't even exist, if it wasn't for their essential laziness: tired of repeating or using same old same old, they're the ones that develop something slicker, easier to use, better, looking differently, you name it. :)

Development contributors

Our great hacker, Kays. (Customizer)
I hope Kays will excuse me for putting it simply like it is, in front of the SMF community, too: we are, after all, different people with different backgrounds and different areas of focus, and different ways of approaching them. And among us all, Kays' take on things reminds me more of SiNaN's take: of his hard work on any detail of his pet hate implementations, and never satisfied until he gets it working right from any point of view. Including never forgetting when the code may introduce the honorary bug in the process. :) Except that's part of the fun of it, as I happen to know too well. *cough*
Kays has started to contribute to SMF long ago. I have committed his code to SMF 2.0, and recently, Spuds is pulling in SMF 2.1 the rework of attachments system Kays has done, as well as a few features and fixes in other areas.
I've said it before, I'll say it one more time to be sure: there is rarely something better for an open source software than to have hackers playing with their favorite code areas till they mold it into a better, cleaner, smarter code, improve their own skills while at it, and have fun in the process.
While Kays has not joined the Orange squad at this time, I know that his hard work and care for his areas in SMF, has already made SMF better, and he has my thanks for that.

A grumbling Antechinus. (SMF Friend)
You're not going to believe this, but here's the nut of it: Antechinus only needed to decide to take a SMF Friend badge, for his interest for theming for 2.1 to wake up wildly, and make dozens of screenshots for us to see his new theme ideas, discuss them, test them out, get them done, and make them into a theme for SMF 2.1. Of course, he is most welcome to do just that, and he is today as well, as we speak, working to his design changes and proposals.
It looks like he feels better undercover. :D

The community site webmaster, SleePy. (Site Team)
SleePy's experience with the site, this big forum and other sites integrated with it, as well as SMF itself, has found its way into SMF since long ago, with various bug fixes he has committed or assistance to patches. For SMF 2.1, he has implemented IPv6 in SMF (along with a mod for SMF 2.0), and his work has improved, for example, admin and moderator areas security, and enhanced other functionalities. For smCore and SMF 3.0, he is getting involved already with questions and suggestions, as well as take part to the road we're on, to open gradually the development process to the community.

I would like to thank them all, and welcome them for the ride.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.
