Can not search in topic titles

Franciscus

I have tried without using an index, with using an index and with using the largest custom index, and I have tried searching on half a dozen different words that I know occur in posting subject titles.

I never get a single search result of any words occuring in post titles.

Searching in posting bodies works fine. Using SMF 2.0.2, migrated from vBulletin to SMF using gConverter.

I'd appreciate your suggestions, as the lack of search functionality in posting titles is a very severe handicap for both us as well as our forum members.

I suspect the cause is the PrettyURL mod?

Update: I disabled that mod and I still can't find words in topic titles.

Update: I tried setting the weights to 10 0 0 30 0 0 and I searched for a word that occurs only in a certain posting title, no result. Also no result when I use a common word that occurs in both message bodies and titles and I check "search in topic subjects only".

Update: The database has all privileges. When I install SMF search enhancement mod 1.8.2 (compatible with SMF 2.0.2), the mod does not appear to be installed at all. (Some tests failed before install).

Hello Franciscus and welcome to sm.org! :)

lol
If you'd have few minutes of patience someone could tell you that the only thing you have to do is go to admin > maintenance > forum maintenance > routine and run the action "Recount all forum totals and statistics" and that will re-generate the table involved in the search in subjects. ;D

Thanks.

However - I just tried that, it does not work.
I also deleted the fulltext indext and re-created it afterwards.

HOWEVER!

"Find and repair any errors" did work!
Yaay!
Thank a million mate!

Yups...mixed the two while writing then...sorry.

Just curious. :) Shouldn't this be moved to support forums?

emanuele

Yeah, no, don't know...it's fixed, others will not search for it anyway so... :P
