I'm using SMF 1.1 Beta 3 Public. It looks nice. However, I found some bugs. I really hate the problems. I want to rollback to the stable release of SMF. Can I do it?

For your information, I was using SMF 1.0.4, then upgraded to 1.1 Beta 3 Public.
Can I downgrade it to SMF 1.0.5 ?

No.  As emphasized previously, that is not possible unless you simply go back to a backup.

What problems are you experiencing?  Just the pm new count thing (which was covered earlier in this topic)?

I tried upgrading and got this database error:

Unknown column 'cal.eventDate' in 'field list'

I'm not very techy, so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using templates that were designed for 1.0.x?


I suggest getting a fresh copy of Calendar.php from the zipped SMF download. See if you still have the error after that...

I used the upgrade utility and got this:

This query:

    DROP TABLE smf_log_search;

Caused the error:

    Unknown table 'smf_log_search'

Any help?

Please update to SMF 1.0.5 first, and then to SMF 1.1 Beta 3 Public.  In the next major release, you'll be able to update directly from older releases.

Just the 1.0.5 upgrade.php.  You don't need anything else, actually, just upload that upgrade.php and run it.  Once done, upload the upgrade.php from 1.1 and run it.

You have SMF 1.0 Beta 5 Public.  SMF 1.1 Beta 3 Public's upgrader does not support SMF 1.0 Beta 5 Public.  To upgrade to SMF 1.1 Beta 3 Public, you will need to first upgrade to SMF 1.0.5.

What did not work about smf_1-0-5_update.zip?  Both update and upgrade contain upgrade.php.

You do not, as I said, need to upload any of the files (for 1.0.5) except upgrade.php.  This is because you want to upload the 1.1 Beta 3 Public files anyway.  However, The upgrader may give you an error (about out of date files) in which case you will need to upload all of the other files.

When will the full version be released? I am on 1.0.1 still. Would you recommend that I go up to 1.1 now anyway? Was there much improvements going to 1.0.5?
