Text Area/box on main page

I feel like such an idiot asking such a basic question... but....

All I want to do is create a text area with some introductory text on the main page of my SMF as an introduction to my forum. (i.e. above my category of boards). I have tried to search (I don't even know what search terms to use.) and looked through all of the configuration screens but no dice. I am using SMF v2.0

EDIT: I realize now that I need a mod. Just don't know which one. I looked at all of them but the "simple announcement" doesn't work with v2.0. Does this functionality exist? Any ideas on how hxxp:www.sggu.com [nonactive] got the News section about the category box and the text on the top right?

Sorry, new here.

Since I have bumped it already I will go ahead and update this. I got around what I was trying to achieve by adding a my site description into the 'Site Slogan' text field - Admin > Features and Options > Configuration > Current Theme > Theme Options and Preferences - Site slogan

It takes quite a bit of text so suits what I was trying to achieve.
