The Back Fence

I am wondering if there was a way that the forum will display down where it says Users Online, say the names of the members who connected in the last 6 hours?

I thought I looked through the settings, but perhaps I missed it.  I tried searching for it, but was not coming up with what I was looking for.

Thanks!

Admin > Configuration > Features & Options > General

.. then set "User online time threshold" to 360, or some other count of minutes...

The Back Fence

Yes, but I think I wanted to figure out if you could show the current users in the past 15 minutes and show the users that have connected in the past 6 hours too.  IPB has a function that looks like this:

Registered Users:
Members connected during last 6 hours :

Does that help with what I am trying to ask?

Shambles

The item I pointed you at will do exactly what you asked for originally.

With your enhanced request, if you click the "users online" link (index.php?action=who) to view the list, you can see who's been active in the past 15 minutes as well as those who've connected in the 345 minutes prior to that, if you resort the display based on the time column.

The Back Fence

I see that :)

I was just wondering if, like IPB, SMF had the ability to display both on the main page, without having to click or sort.

Might this mod be what you're after?

Users Online Today Mod.

Not looked at it too much but it *might* satisfy you out of the box, or with a little tweak.

Hi,

What is the Theme you are using?

Bottom left hand corner under "Forum Stats" it shows "Users Online"

5 Guests, 1 User.

Point your cursor at "5 Guests" and double click. All the Guest and Users will be displayed.

To view the name of the "Bots" visiting your forum, you will have to goto security and moderation>Anti-spam and set your registration captcha to "High" or "Highest".

Yes, that is what I am looking for. :)

How do I install it?

Shambles

Use your Package Manager

The Back Fence

I got it installed, but I can't update settings :(

I know this is a learning curve, but I feel like an idiot!

Drop a note of your problem (symptoms etc) in the support thread for that mod

Read Descriptions of MODs when you install them ;)

QuoteThank you for using the Users Online Today Modification.

This modification allows users to see who logged in during the day.

Options: Administration Center > Modification Settings > Miscellaneous

Though, you cannot set it to 6 hours.  lowest time setting would be 24 hours.  6 hours can be done, but it requires manual file edits.

The Back Fence

Actually, I did read it ;)

When I click on that, all it does is take me back to the screen that says Miscellaneous........

hcfwesker

The Options are there.  Unless the MOD didn't install correctly.

The Back Fence

Smacking myself in head.  I missed the check box at the bottom.  So sorry.

I am the one that specifically asked the question here, because I didn't know....at the time...there was a thread just for the mod.  Please move if you think it's necessary.

As I said, I am still learning my way around SMF.  I have used IPB for years, and always been hosted by someone else.  This is my first attempt at owning and managing.

4 whole agonizing posts later and it was solved.  Big whoop.
