There is no built in function for this, you could try searching the modifications area for a mod.

Personally I use the Welcome Topic mod which creates a new topic in your Welcome New Members area (assuming you have one) and then everyone can post a welcome message, this also encourages new members who might be a bit shy to get posting. A PM is personal and can be both overlooked and ignored.

Yes it is.  I use iton my 2.0.2 forum.

just because the MOD page doesnt specifically say its compatible, sometimes they are, and in this case it is.  2.0 MODs almost all work with 2.0.2 versions.

Plus, check this link, as well, http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_can_install_a_mod_that_doesn't_work_in_my_SMF_version   for future MODs you run into that arent compatible.

So are you saying that your forum is not sending out any e-mails? If so check your e-mail settings and if your web server supports phpmail most now insist on SMTP.
