So, I randomly have pop up ads (for Polyvore of all things) showing up on my site. I have no idea where they are coming from or how to get rid of them.

I am running SMF 2.0.3 and have made no changes to anything except my robots.txt file a couple of days before the ads started showing up. I don't get ads in firefox, but I did get a security certificate thing when I viewed the site in IE.

Can anyone help me?

www.cwohp.net is the site.

Check your add-ons within your browser ..... I bet if you run IE without any add-ons you wont see it .... look in your programs and features and see if you see any programs that started about the same time you started seeing it.

Install an add-on that blocks ads. That may work, it worked
for me. If it is just your site, try somehow to turn the
javascript off.

Goodluck with getting those nasty ads off of your forum!

I just browsed your site with with FF and adblock disabled, and again with IE. I saw no pop ups whatsoever. Are you the only one seeing them or have you had reports from other members also?

It has to be a local browser issue...

Didn't see any ads on your site.

Might be a virus on your computer.

In IE, Go to tools / Manage Add-ons ...... in the toolbars and extension area, the add-on should be there to disable. As stated above, you may also need to go into programs and features area of the control panel to uninstall the Add-on also.

In FF , Tools / Add-ons / Extension ..... disable the one that cause the problem ( for those other people that may read this thread )
