Ok I am new with all of this so please be patient.

I am using SMF 1.0.5 and Mambo 4.5.2. I installed the bridge and everything seemed to be working fine. I decided to change themes in SMF and haven't been able to get it to work correctly since. I deleted everything and started from scratch going through all of the bridge steps involved again. This time part of step one fails and I get this message:

1.     Execute Modification     ./Sources/Subs.php     Failure

And now I can't paste the required code above <head> and <body> although it is writeable.

Advice? Suggestions?

I will be happy to let anybody willing into the site with admin priveleges and pass, just PM me if you would be willing to help me.

What version fo the bridge are trying to install?  Is it 3.19a_stable or 3.19a_SMF1.1b3?

Well, that shouldn't have changed if all you did was change your SMF theme.....

Try downloading the file, changing it in a text editor, and then uploading it.

The bridge is 3.19a_stable.

I download the file and change it in text editor  but when I try to upload the modified file I get a critical error on upload. I go to check the file in the cpanel editor and nothing has changed. The modification is not there.

I am so confused. :(

Now when I try to upload the package through the package manager I'm told the package is corrupt.  :o Any Ideas where to download a new package?

Your problem is most likely file permissions.  Make sure the files you are changing are writable.

Well I am still stuck. I deleted the entire setup so that I could start with a fresh install. Nothing but a new theme, HumanCondition, in Mambo and the classic theme in SMF.

The first 4 steps of the bridge went perfectly. I gave the files I needs to edit the correct permissions...or thought I did.  I get this error with the code in place:

Warning: main(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/SSI.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/hdhoran:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/hdhoran/public_html/templates/humancondition/index.php on line 9

Warning: main(/SSI.php): failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in /home/hdhoran/public_html/templates/humancondition/index.php on line 9

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/SSI.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/hdhoran/public_html/templates/humancondition/index.php on line 9

I don't know what it means or how to fix it and I'm just about frustrated enough scrap the entire project . :-\ I love the feel of SMF and Mambo together but this is a pain.

In your Mambo control panel, click on the Components Menu.  Find the SMF - Forum Component, and click on the Config option.

Put the absolute path to SMF in the textbox that asks for the absolute path.
