Change the FTP used for file permissions?

I set the FTP username and password to do my file permissions and it works great. But, what if I need to change the password or username? I cannot seem to find the setting where that is stored.

Password is not permanently stored, username will be updated next time you use it.

Well if it isn't stored, how come every time I go to reset file permissions via the forum's admin area it never needs FTP details after the first time I input the server ip/port/username/password/dir ?

It will be stored *temporarily* in session. It will not remain permanently for security reasons.
