as admin - how can I get a master list by email name or real name

Having been busy removing the sidebar in 2.1 and rejigging the admin front page I forgot exactly where it was :/

(Though note that both the sidebar menu and the normal admin menu are exactly the same thing, using the top level menu names as the titles for sidebar blocks)

for a long time my 'admin sidebar' was missing
and I just fumbled thru the 'newer' version
not sure how I got it back
seems to work better for me ;P

Well, in 2.0 the default is not showing the sidebar and using the dropdown menus. In 2.1 the sidebar is gone entirely, as it was always supposed to be gone anyway.

In 2.0 you can switch between the two with the << and >> icons in the menu, followed by the option in your profile to change it. (As you since found)

But we drastically changed the admin front page in 2.1...

and my biggest request - if you guys are making big changes
is the PERMISSIONS stuff / I still fumble through that stuff
so many ways to access to many variables
and then I made a new membergroup with inherited permissions
argh
worked 95% as desired (pehaps could have been 100%)
but I gave up and made a new group

anyway
LOVE SMF
and my members give our forum praises every day

2.1 has been in development for the last two years... and it's all on Github (as per previous announcements)

And as per previous announcements, it'll be done when it's done, though you're actually the first person since I joined the dev team to ask me when 2.1 will be ready. Rest assured when we're ready to publish a public beta, you'll hear about it.

We are not planning to make major changes to permissions in 2.1, 2.1 was always intended to be a fairly quick update to add new stuff but that got a little out of hand.

There are no known bugs in the permissions system; it may not have been set up the way you thought it was.
