@Kindred, which is of absolutely no use when you're talking about reported posts and comments you've made - something SMF notably lacks.

oh, true, Arantor...
but the ssullivan user was apparently talking about standard post notification, not K@'s request for report notification.

Although I don't know about "notably lacks"...   it is true that it is not present, but is that lack "notable"? that's opinion. :P

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

Yes, I was talking about that. I could never find that feature, that's why, when seeing this post (and by my lack of sleep last night), I assumed it was a request to add such. I was wrong (my bad).

But if you see my previous posts (I've not posted that much...) you will see I have also been helpful. And I understand this is off-topic, but I don't like being called a spammer (just like you wouldn't, I suppose).

kat

Apologies.

Your posting style seemed, to me, to be very similar to some spammers that we've had, who post things in order to get their post-count up, so that they can put spammy links in their sigs.

Obviously, I was in error, with that.

No problem. And thanks a lot for clearing it up - didn't want to start here with such a tag.

kat

I believe we can safely say that the tag's been ripped-up and thrown out of the window, Stef. :)

My fault, entirely.

Sorry for the bump,

but any kind of news on this?

my moderators have been nagging me for a while for this exact feature :)

edit:
I guess sometimes silence can explain many things :D

See, those who pay attention to Github will know exactly what's coming next and why this is entirely possible.

Here? Maybe. It would get complicated pretty fast to get this in as a mod (since it would have to PM everyone or send them emails and I'd hate both)

But in the core for 2.1 that's a different story entirely. I should note today I've been adding to that page to make it handle permissions - this item was by far the hardest work for it ;)

Arantor

PM and email are a pain to do as mods, especially email.

Then you have to get into the games of: who should be able to see a moderation report, so you can go find out who should be contacted for a reply, assuming they want some kind of alert - so you also have to have some way of storing and retrieving those preferences.

SMF 2.1 needs this built anyway and it isn't pretty.

Oh, I think I see... it's all the "Who" stuff. Pulling all sorts of variables from all sorts of places?

Messy?

Arantor

Oh it is, even in 2.1. But in 2.1 I already have to build such stuff to make it work - but short of porting masses of 2.1 to a mod, it isn't going to happen here.
