Hey everyone! First, don't mind my English. I'm a 14 year old student from Holland and English isn't a good subject. But, why aren't there more kinds of SM software? I really like the SMF but why isn't there a Simple Machines Blog? Or something elspe? The way how SMF works is really nice, so it might have any more software.

And if you're having a little bit OCD, i'm sorry. :)

Because someone's got to build it. Right now we have 3 developers who are concentrating on SMF itself, we do not have the people currently to take on development of anything else :(

EDIT: Moved. This isn't a feature request for SMF.

Is it possible to start an another SMB team?

Arantor

In theory, if you can find the people to do it. But in practice the answer is likely to be no, depending on whether you're building it on top of SMF (which for 3.0 will be having *major* reconstruction work) or as a mod or as a separate system with integration.

Something else! Like the next Twitter or Facebook or Reddit.

If it was only that easy.  :-\

Anyone is free to attempt to start a new project. However, in order for it to use the simple machines name, it must be applied, reviewed and accepted by the board of directors. Accepted projects get funded, servers, and support from the simple machines corporation.

In order to get it accepted, an application must include a clear set of project goals, a plan and a evidence that the team making the application can do what they are promising (which implies that there are definite known coders in the group who have committed to the development and release of the project software)

At the moment, no one on the forum project team is interested or able to support the effort for additional pieces, but, if you can find good developers who can commit to the project, please feel free to submit the application.

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

I'm certainly interested in doing certain other projects under the SM banner but I certainly don't have the resources to make it happen while I'm working on SMF itself :(
